It would be very remiss of me not to express my sincere gratitude for the time and attention given to me by Ms Joyia and her team at Arkansas Asset Builders.
When I married my husband in 2009, I was advised to file Married Filing Separately because of my husband’s back child support issues. I used online services to do my own taxes, but consistently found myself owing money. I even changed my exemptions so I would not owe this year. But this year when I went online to do my taxes, it showed me owing $1,440!
I shut the program down without completing my taxes and decided to find some help. Before I went, I prayed to God that I would not owe anything this year. I even asked God, if He had a little extra time, if He could let me get a refund!
“Arkansas Asset Builders… worked diligently with me to be able to file Married Filing Jointly. [They were] truly the answer to my prayers.”
I went to Arkansas Asset Builders’ VITA location in Conway and spoke with Ms Joyia, who told me about Form 8379 Injured Spouse Allocation and worked diligently with me to be able to file Married Filing Jointly. She was truly the answer to my prayers. I walked into that office thinking I would owe $1,440 and walked out with a refund of over $1,000!!! Not only that, she set an appointment with me to submit amended returns for the three previous years to see if I can recoup anything.
This program and office are truly a God send! Kudos to all involved.
